The Pearson English activity book for Year 9 is designed to develop and consolidate students' knowledge and understanding of the English language and grammar, and successfully integrate and consolidate cumulative learning in the Language, Literature and Literacy strands. The activity book develops higher order language and literacy skills, providing a solid language foundation while scaffolding learning. Rich and varied literature sources, including contemporary and classic texts and Indigenous Australian storytelling, are also used to provide authentic language learning. Students are required to complete a variety of activities including comprehension, extended writing tasks and speech writing, all of which are aimed at improving students' literacy skills.
